South End

This is one of my favorite neighborhoods and worth visiting. It is a wonderfully historic area that has been designated as the largest urban Victorian neighborhood in the USA and named a Boston Landmark District in 1983. The area has a richly diverse population who live in the distinctive row town houses with ornate wrought iron railings and fences, many designed by Charles Bullfinch in the 1850s. So many restaurants and cafes, and a large artists' colony in an area called SoWa, where one may visit their studios that are open frequently.
